Western Granada

The village of El Turro is situated 40 minutes from the historic city of Granada, with the famous Alhambra Palace, and 1 hour away from the Costa Tropical beaches, where there are wide choices of beach front restaurants.

The Sierra Nevada Ski Resort, available for Para/gliding, excellent local scenery for mountain biking, walking , rock climbing, or simply soaking up the rays.

There is local cycle hire available, including maps, collection/delivery from El Turro.. Enjoy a local nature walk, within 5 minutes of El Turro, or further a field, exploring the local birds, flowers, and butterflies.

Nearby National Parks Sierra de Tejida and the spa town of Alhama de Granada. The village of El Turro, with a population of 382. There is a local bar with traditional tapas, bar meals, a local shop where you can buy stamps, beer, wine, fruit & vegetables.

Explore the village, and local countryside.
Take a stroll around the village and local countryside on foot, and sample the local Spanish life. Enjoy the local tapas in the bar. Visit Alhama de Granada, and enjoy a walk around the old town and spectacular gorge.

The City of Granada
Drive to the Alhambra Palace, with pre booked ticket, taking in breakfast nearby. Spend 4-5 hours visiting the Palace and gardens. Enjoy the rest of what Granada offers, with the open top bus tour of Granada, from the Alhambra Palace. Use this opportunity to identify areas of interest to visit later or on another day.

Visit the Cathedral and the old Arab quarter Albacin. There is also an excellent Sunday market. (great opportunity to buy local vegetable and fruit direct from the farm).

Bird and Nature walk with local guide.
You will be collected from the house, and taken on guided walk with a local guide, within the local area, or even further a field.

The City of Cordoba
The beautiful city of Cordoba can be reached within 2 hours, by the motorway network of Andalucia. Take in the Botanical gardens and the Mezquita, and on the return trip, visit the roman city of Antequera

Cycling
A great way to explore the local area on 2 wheels. The region is ideal for cycling with quiet country roads. Cycle hire available locally.

Guadix
This city is famous for its cave dwelling, with residents still living in cave houses.

Beach and Wine Tasting
Take the motorway to the coast, spend a few hour soaking up the rays, and enjoying the fish restaurants. On the return journey, visit the Bodegas del Sierra Nevada, sample the red wine, with tapas.

Sierra Nevada National Park
Take a drive to the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada, enjoy the mountain scenery, during the winter visit the ski resort and have ski/snow boarding lessons.
